Epsilon3 Changelog #26: Field Input References, Approval for Suggested Edits, Section Snippets, Clickable ToC

Epsilon3 is proud to announce that we are part of the AWS Space Accelerator!

Our team also just got back from an exciting visit to Cape Canaveral.  It is really inspiring for us to see how you are putting Epsilon3 to use!  If there’s an opportunity to come see your site and witness or support an operation, please let us know.  Your use cases are how we know where to go next!

Given your feedback, in this release we took the next big step on our table of contents and made it clickable to jump to the step of interest.  We hope it makes navigating even easier.

To help your highly parallel operations, if your step depends on an entry from another step or operator, you can now add a reference to a field input anywhere else in the procedure and see what the input value was.

An extra set of eyes is always better.  You can now require approval for any suggested edits you make during a procedure before the changes are incorporated.

Finally, we expanded our new snippets functionality to include full sections that you can now insert into your procedures, greatly simplifying reuse of common procedure sections.

There are many other significant changes in our improvements section to ensure work is saved and make it simpler to duplicate master procedures.

As always, we continue to add feature tutorials on our support page.  Comments, additional requests and feedback are always welcome on our product portal page or via email to support@epsilon3.io

P.S. Please check out Laura’s podcast appearances on Evona and Solarpunk. We also published a long-form article on the most common mistakes space operators make and how to prevent them; we’d love to hear what you think, so feel free to leave a comment!

P.P.S. We also know talent knows talent.  Epsilon3 is looking to scale up even more, so if you know of great software engineers, PMs, or sales and customer success folks looking to bring their talents to this industry, please send them our way!

New! Field Input References

  • A clutch improvement in communicating across the procedure.  The new Input Reference block type allows for an entered field input value to be displayed in any other steps elsewhere.

  • A teammate can provide your step needed information at any time.  As soon as it is entered, it will replicate to anywhere else you’ve referenced it.

  • Don’t worry: if you repeat a step that captured a value, it will automatically be updated!

New! Require Approval for Suggested Edits

  • Toggle on “Require approval for new suggested edits” in the Settings screen, and all new suggested edits in your workspace will be created as Pending.

  • Pending suggested edits are not reflected in the current run and are indicated by a red notification bubble on the Strikethrough (S) icon for the suggested edit.

  • Easily navigate to Pending Suggested Edits from the top of the procedure, and accept them into the run from the Suggested Edit dialog box.

  • All suggested edits will be saved for review in the next draft of the procedure, regardless of if they are accepted for the current run.

Improved! Clickable Table of Contents

  • We continue to improve the ability to navigate your procedures. Now you can jump to anywhere in the procedure by clicking on the Table of Contents that already shows the real-time status of your operation.

Improved! Section Snippets

  • Did you like having Step Snippets?  Well now you can save an entire section the same way and reuse it as often as you need.

  • When editing your procedures, selecting the three dot menu to the right will offer the option to save a section to your Snippets library.  We hope this saves some time!

Improvements

  • Sections now show progress bars!

  • Duplicating a procedure now prompts for the new title and other procedure details.

  • We've added a new screen for editing Projects! Look out for more updates to the Settings pages soon.

  • We are now saving backups of edited procedures in the background! Reach out to Epsilon3 Support if you ever need to recover in-progress work.

  • Design update! We standardized the look of buttons across the application.

  • We added an "Invite Sent!" message for visual confirmation of re-sent invites.

  • Fixed an issue where an incorrect ID could show for a locked or unlocked procedure in the event history.

  • Fixed an issue where the section label was not shown for a running linked section on the home screen.

  • Fixed an issue where the "Run" button was not working for very old linked procedures.

  • Fixed alignment of the three dot menu with the section name when editing a procedure with errors.
