Epsilon3 Changelog #27: Step Conditionals, Suggest Edits Offline

A smaller changelog with a really big requested feature: Step conditionals (also known as decision trees)!  You can now lay out procedures that change based on pass/fail criteria. This is the first step in decision making and setting up your flowchart diagram. We can’t wait to get your thoughts and add onto this feature!

Many more features will be coming out this summer as we continue to learn from and grow with your teams.

In the meantime, check out some exciting news and articles our team recently published to our blog:

P.S. We know talent knows talent and Epsilon3 continues to grow.  Please forward great software engineers, PMs, or customer success folks our way!

New! Step Conditionals

  • Here by popular demand! Step conditionals are a new and powerful way to express decision trees and flow control logic within your procedures.

  • You can add conditional logic to each step, and easily configure different execution paths depending on if the step is successful or marked failed.

  • Think it’s difficult to visualize all this in a linear procedure? We agree! You can also switch the procedure edit view between linear and flowchart modes to help visualize your procedure’s flow logic and check the overall flow.

  • When running procedures, we’ll call out the next step in the conditional flow and also ensure that steps are completed in the configured order. We’ll also combine any step conditional logic with any step dependency requirements to ensure everything works as expected.

  • Give it a try and let us know what you think! We’ve got some great ideas on what to add next (like branching on field inputs), but we’d love to hear from you too!

New! Suggest Edits Offline

  • You can now suggest edits offline! This adds to our list of offline capabilities, which includes viewing procedures, signing off steps, skip and repeat, making comments, and more.

  • Suggest an edit to a step name, a content block, or leave a comment as a suggestion.

  • Look out in future changelogs for us to round out the offline capabilities of Epsilon3.

Design update! Skip and repeat step buttons in three dot menu

  • We moved the skip and repeat step buttons to the three dot menu for consistency with sections.

Improvements

  • We added a trend line to the plot of post-run durations in the run history. Check it out!

  • We’ve improved the home screen so the search filter isn’t discarded when switching tabs.

  • Speed! We’ve reduced the number of unnecessary re-renders of the run screen.

  • More speed! We’ve reduced the amount of data downloaded by the home screen so the page loads faster.

  • We’ve updated the workspace invitation to be more specific and include the number of days before expiration.

  • We improved the layout of the plots in the run history on small screens.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the review screen was updating every time a procedure changed, making it difficult to save selected reviewers.

  • Fixed an issue where the sort order of procedures on the home screen would shuffle as the procedures loaded.

  • Fixed an issue where a long single word operation would break the layout in the run history.

  • Fixed an issue where the email entered for password reset was required to have the correct font case.

  • Fixed an issue where a long list of projects in the home screen could overflow the bottom of the screen.

  • Fixed an issue where the “Jump To” dropdown was displaying sections as letters if they were specified to display as numbers in settings.
