Epsilon3 Changelog #19: Header Media, Improved Run Export, Procedure Summary Enhancements, Offline Updates, Suggested Edit Comments

We are starting out 2022 with five additional features and numerous performance and security improvements coming from our rapidly growing engineering team. We are adding product enhancements across Epsilon3 in our administration tooling, editing procedures, running operations, and post-run views and analysis. We are looking forward to accelerating our feature development even more as we jump into our ambitious list of new functionality for Epsilon3 and look forward to sharing our evolving 2022 Roadmap with you during our monthly meetings starting in February. Our product portal page is always available for new asks, and we can always be reached at support@epsilon3.io

New and Improved! Run Summary Enhancements

  • Simplify your procedure runs for your post-operation analysis!  A new cleaner  header quickly summarizes how the run finished.

  • A new toggle will quickly show all the comments made during a procedure for awareness and review.  Another toggle will show or hide your defined custom summary information.

  • Don’t forget, you can always print any view you create with a quick Cmd+P/Ctrl-P and share as a PDF with members of your organization!

New! Media in Headers

  • You can now add upfront images and other files to your procedures in the Headers section.  Simply use the “File” button as you would anywhere else in the procedure.

  • Add diagrams, logos, photos, screen shots, and other media as you need!

New! Offline Skip Section

  • Many times your procedures contain sections that are only executed when needed. Skip Section will now work while you are offline to allow you to cleanly skip an entire section, and to quickly sync your progress with the team when your connection is restored.

Improved CSV Export

  • Following up on our last Changelog, we have now added tables to the CSV export capabilities of your procedure runs.

New! Suggested Edit Comments

  • Making the editing process even more of a conversation, you can now comment on general suggested edits when running a procedure. If you have a suggested edit that’s best captured in a comment, this is for you!

  • These comments will show with the suggested edits when you begin your next draft.

Improvements

  • New! We’ve added the sticky toolbar to the running procedure page. You can now see the current procedure, expand and collapse sections, jump to the next step, and participate in a procedure – quickly and easily from the toolbar.

  • New! You can now view archived procedures, and unarchive ones that you’d like to work on again or run. Check out the new archived procedures page, accessible at the bottom of the master procedures list.

  • New! Navigating to the home page will now remember your selected tab. For example, selecting a procedure from the master procedure list, then selecting the browser back button, will now take you back to the master procedure list. No more losing your place!

  • New! Updated the progress indicators for a running procedure (made consistent across all pages). Check out the new progress bar with helpful stats on the running procedure page.

  • Improved formatting for printing a procedure or run to PDF. Now, the exported PDF will have cleaner page margins and improved rendering of images and background colors.

  • Improved security when handling certain file and media attachment types. Now, files like HTML and SVG will be shown without previews for increased security.

  • Added support for disabling password logins when Single Sign-On (SSO) logins are enabled. Let us know if you’d like this configured, and we’d be happy to assist!

  • Improved support for storing and configuring organization settings. (Organizations contain multiple workspaces and contain domain, SSO, and other settings.) Let us know if there’s something you’d like to configure for your organization!

  • Improved some validation messages when editing projects and operators on the settings page for better consistency and clarity.

  • Improved support for logging organization audit data like user login activity. Stay tuned for more updates in audit logging!

  • Improved the design and styling when making redlined edits to field input types, so that disabled fields are now more clearly indicated.

  • Updated the user directory page to now sort users by email alphabetically. No more scrolling around to find users and email addresses!

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused some large image attachments to grow beyond the available page width.

  • Fixed an issue that caused field input and table input data to be exported with incorrect units in certain rare cases.

  • Fixed an issue where field inputs with specific values would not be exported as expected in the CSV data export.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the CSV data export from working correctly when a table’s row count had been modified in some cases.

  • Fixed a display issue that caused the operation tag auto-fill dropdown to be partially occluded when running a procedure.

  • Continued refactoring the edit procedure page for increased performance when editing very large procedures. Stay tuned for more! (Tip: In the meantime, collapsing sections that you’re not working on will also help boost performance.)

  • Fixed a display issue when rendering field inputs – now, vertical and horizontal content is aligned as expected.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the wrong cursor to display in some cases when hovering over the “save” button for adding an operation tag to a run.
