Epsilon3 Changelog #13: Approval/Release Process and Workspaces

Read about the latest Epsilon3 product updates. We’d love to hear from you about what you love and what else you need. We’ve incorporated a few important and valuable features over the last few weeks, and we appreciate your feedback. We’ll also be giving product updates and walking you through how to best utilize these features in our next tag-ups with you, so please let us know if you have any questions.

Some recent press coverage as we recently wrapped up YC Demo Day:

New! Assign Reviewers & Release

  • We’ve made it easy for you to assign and track approvals within Epsilon3.

  • In our last release, we added the feature to create a draft. With this release, you now can optionally assign reviewers to approve the draft.

  • Once all reviewers have approved the procedure, it can be released for use.

  • You’ll see the released version # in the Master Procedures home page and a button to create draft, edit draft, or review depending on the state of the next version.

  • NOTE: Any user with an account (yes, this means Viewers too!) can approve a procedure.

  • This is our first step towards building a powerful review/release/versioning capability in Epsilon3, and we will be expanding on it in upcoming releases.

  • Current limitations (which we will be working on):

    • You cannot yet unapprove a procedure.

    • You should wait to create a new draft until after you have incorporated all suggested edits from a current run.

    • Version #s need to be changed and incremented manually.

  • This is a complex feature that deserves a flowchart, so we’ve made one for you.

New! Team Workspaces

Workspaces.jpg
  • Any team or company can now have multiple completely separate workspaces.

  • Each workspace has different access levels and users, so one user may not have access to all workspaces within a specific team.

  • Any procedure on one workspace is not accessible on another workspace. You can think of them as multiple instances of Epsilon3 that a single user or company has access to.

  • Use cases include separate teams (i.e., integration, operations, etc.) or programs (which have and require separate access).

  • This also means that one user can be part of multiple teams/workspaces (for example, when collaborating between different organizations).

  • If you’d like a new workspace, please send an email to support@epsilon3.io.

New Keyboard Shortcuts:

  • CTRL+S/CMD+S will now automatically save your changes!

Improvements:

  • Skip icon changed from a checkbox to better indicate a skipped step

  • Project selector UI was updated to be more consistent with site

  • Refactor of Master Procedures list to give the user more situational awareness of current released version and whether a procedure was in draft/review

  • Users will get a warning if they attempt to sign out without saving changes.

  • Procedure will not perform “collapse all” when saving

  • Improve procedure detail page so it’s easier to understand which version a user is viewing

  • Added the ability to swap between preview of currently released version and newest draft (whether in draft or review)

  • Show an error message about unsaved changes when attempting to leave after clicking “New Procedure”

Fixes:

  • Fixed “Session Expired” random error

  • Fixed sort by Progress column on the home page

  • Fixed Intercom showing up properly on the downloadable copy of Epsilon3

  • Fixed “Create Draft” to not require a save before creation

  • Fixed a bug with homepage search
